Growing up in her family’s business ( 3rd generation) of high-end, luxury haute couture, Debbie always had an innate sense of style and a keen eye for color. She discovered her passion and talent for interior design when she and her husband decided to gut renovate their first home in Scarsdale, New York.
When my family and I moved from NYC to Westchester/Scarsdale, NY, we had a difficult time finding a home with a beautiful backyard. Eventually, we found a house with a stunning backyard and a pool, but the interior/exterior was dilapidated and needed extensive renovation. Despite having no prior experience, I took on the challenge myself, believing I could accomplish it. After completing the project, our architect brought potential clients to see our home, and they all admired the interior design, asking who was responsible for it. This experience made me realize that interior design was my true talent and passion. Once my children were a bit older, we moved back to the city, and I decided to pursue my passion by attending the New York School of Interior Design. After completing my education, I wasted no time and established my own business. As my projects became more extensive and complex, I began specializing in full gut renovations and turn-key interior design.
Reaching my full potential in everything I do serves as the driving force behind my success. When I take on a project, I pour my heart and soul into it, with my clients’ happiness being my ultimate goal. I strive to make the entire experience easy, stress-free, and enjoyable for them. Additionally, listening to my clients plays a significant role in my success. I ensure that I understand their tastes, lifestyle, needs, and desires before starting any project. By not only fulfilling their dreams but also surpassing their expectations, I love seeing their surprise and sheer happiness with their finished homes!
Staying current with design trends, innovations, and new products is of utmost importance. To achieve this, we never miss attending all the design shows. I enjoy exploring new collections and discovering both new sources and the latest introductions from my existing vendors. When it comes to furniture, I personally test and experience each chair and sofa to ensure ultimate comfort for my clients. Seeing and touching products in person is essential, as it’s challenging to fully appreciate their beauty (or lack thereof) online. I also find inspiration by visiting showrooms like the D&D Building in NYC and the Dakota Building in Miami. These visits allow me to explore my favorite showrooms, view new collections, and make sure that fabrics are not only durable but also luxurious.
I believe that taking care of oneself is vital to achieving the best possible outcomes. Therefore, I prioritize starting my day with a run on the beach or an early morning yoga class, regardless of how busy my work schedule is. I’ve found that running often sparks the most amazing ideas for my projects, while yoga is essential for improving my focus, and relieving stress. If necessary, I’m willing to work late nights and weekends to ensure everything is accomplished.
Not many people know that I grew up riding horses. I rode hunters, and jumpers; competed on the A-circuit since the age of nine through my college years. It was a significant part of my life and helped shape my discipline and dedication
I have been very fortunate to have many wonderful clients I truly enjoyed working with!
Over the past 15 years I have been designing dream homes for my clients. Therefore, the DLT INTERIORS SHOWCASE has been a labor of love. It has alllowed me to infuse my personal style and creativity into the design, and was an incredibly enjoyable experience to showcase my own vision and bring it to life.
